Printmaking covers a wide variety of techniques and it is this challenge of process and expectation which fuels my creative interest.
The idea of producing multiple prints from a variety of printmaking methods appealed to me and influenced my choice to study printmaking at the North Adelaide School of Art in the 1980’s.
My linocuts bring together digital manipulation and traditional printmaking techniques. For many years I worked in the graphic arts industry and modern printing technology combined with hand produced printmaking processes are a fascinating mix to me. I like to experiment using both methods, discovering ways to express the mark making and drawing elements.
Form and texture often drive my choice of subject matter. The linocut medium employs an element of sculpture while carving and it is this quality I try to bring to my printmaking.
